Saskatchewan Parks - Buffalo Pound Park

School Programs

Buffalo Pound Provincial Park offers a variety of educational programs to school and your groups at a cost of $1 per participant to cover program costs. Teachers and Chaperones are required to participate in programs at no charge. Programs include aquatic pond dipping studies, terrestrial habitat hikes, bison and human history, prairie settlement and First Nations history.

Camping for school and youth groups is also available at a cost of $1 per student.

To book your school group outing, contact the Park Interpreter or Administration Office at (306)694-3658.

Casual Interpretive Programs

The Park Interpreter conducts a variety of programs of interest to all age groups. These walks, talks and performances vary weekly and frequently feature special guests and events. Look for posters throughout the campgrounds, ask for a calendar of events at the entry gate on your arrival or go to the Events section of the Things To Do page for summer programming.

Activity Pack

Pick up an activity pack from the entry gate personnel to accentuate your stay at Buffalo Pound Provincial Park.  The packs may be borrowed for a day absolutely free with your park admission.  Activity kits include:

Pond Dipping Kit
Nature Watching Kit
Fishing Kit
Bocci Ball Kit

20 of our provincial parks allow you to pre-book your site through the Reserve-a-Site program.  You can rest easy knowing that you have your holiday planned.  The 2009 Reserve-a-Site program will begin accepting reservations at 12:00:01 a.m. on January 1, 2009.

Fees for the Saskatchewan provincial park system are as of January 1, 2009.  Fees are reviewed annually and subject to change prior to the next operating system.
