We sure will, and with the Saskatchewan Provincial Parks Reserve-A-Site program, there are now more campsites available to provide you the security of knowing a site is waiting for you, before you ever leave home.  New locations for 2008 include Buffalo Pound, Danielson, Makwa Lake and The Battlefords provincial parks, making the service available in 19 park locations.  We have also made other changes to the program that will modernize and improve the service overall for 2008.  These changes (other features) of the program that we would like to draw your particular attention to are noted in italics.

To reserve a site, you apply directly to the park you are interested in.  The date you will receive confirmation on your request will vary considerably depending on where park staff are in place through the winter months.  At those locations, you still may receive your tentative confirmation some time between January 1 and April; the majority of requests will be processed in the new operating season, beginning April 2008.  While our staff does their best at fulfilling your requests, we do not accept bookings for specific campsites or specific areas of the campground.  You may, however, specify your preference for an electrical or non-electric site and, if you have special needs or requests, the park will do their best to accommodate you.

To better service your request, we strongly encourage you to use the online Reserve-A-Site form.  If you still prefer to use regular mail or fax, please download the appropriate Reserve-A-Site application and use this to submit the pertinent information we will need to process your request (note:  telephone reservations are available at Crooked Lake, Good Spirit Lake, Echo Valley, Lac La Ronge, Moose Mountain and Rowan’s Ravine beginning January 1, 2008, with all other Reserve-A-Site parks telephone service beginning June 2, 2008).

It is recommended that you book the entire length of your stay when making the reservation.  The option to extend your reservation upon your arrival at the park, may not be available.  When phoning to reserve your site please know the dates of your stay, and type and length of unit.

All reservations made through Reserve-A-Site must be guaranteed with a credit card.  To ensure your credit card and other personal information is secure and protected, we are updating our credit card transaction processes.  This will mean that, for 2008, we are changing the date we finalize the financial transaction of your reservation request (credit card number collection and processing) to the new season beginning April 2008.  Even if you have received prior tentative confirmation from the park you have requested a site through – we will contact you sometime in the new season to complete the processing of your reservation.

To improve how we operate our campgrounds, we are implementing a consistent minimum number of nights stay for your reservation period for all Reserve-A-Site park locations.  This will include three nights for holiday long weekends (Friday, Saturday and Sunday) and a minimum two nights for any other time.

All parks, including those that offer the Reserve-A-Site service, also accommodate drive‑in campers on a first-come, first-served basis, without reservations, based on availability.

You may have heard that a maximum, 23-nights-stay policy was being considered for Reserve-A-Site spots in Saskatchewan provincial parks.  The Saskatchewan Parks Service has decided not to limit the number of nights you can stay in a Reserve-A-Site spot in 2008.  Further consultations will be held to determine if a maximum stay policy will be introduced sometime in the future.

Reserve-A-Site fees include a non-refundable reservation fee and the camping fees for the minimum number of nights of your reservation.  For example, if you request a reservation for July 6 through July 10, 2008, the reservation fee and the first two nights of the camping fee (to meet the minimum nights reservation requirement) will be charged to your credit card with the remaining nights being paid on your arrival at the park.

You may cancel your reservation through phone or email to the park in which your reservation is at, 48 hours prior to noon of the first day of your reservation.  You will only be charged the non-refundable reservation fee.

Any cancellations received less then 48 hours prior to noon of the first day of your reservation will result in you being charged the non-refundable reservation fee and the first night’s camping fee.

Your reserved site will be held for you until noon of the second day of your reservation.  If you are a “No-Show”, you will not receive a refund of the non-refundable reservation fee and the minimum nights stay.  Your site will be released at noon on the second day of the reservation, terminating your reservation.
