Did You Know?

The provincial budget earmarked $700,000 to fulfill the government's promise to establish a new Capital Commission, which will ensure Government of Saskatchewan is committed to a capital city that reflects the province's values, culture, heritage, power and wealth.

The Heritage Resources Branch recognizes that the spirit and character of a province is largely defined by its unique history and heritage.  Accordingly, our mission is to facilitate the protection and conservation of heritage resources in Saskatchewan, and to foster a culture of heritage stewardship that will help build sustainable communities.  This mandate is accomplished principally through inventory, regulatory, research, and consultative programs and services.

The Heritage Resources Branch is responsible for managing Saskatchewan's heritage resources and for administering various protection provisions under The Heritage Property Act.  These protection provisions include heritage resource impact assessment regulations, investigation permitting, easements and covenants, and Provincial and Municipal Heritage Property designation.
